Following a judicial review and a subsequent planning appeal process, the Secretary of State granted planning permission for an innovative scheme of custom build in 2017. The site was subsequently purchased by Backhouse Housing. PlanningSphere have submitted a reserved matters application for a scheme of 34 custom-build homes whereby prospective purchases will be able to ‘customise’ the internal configuration of the open market homes.
Wiltshire Council resolved to permit the scheme in October 2020 pending the implementation of a strategic solution relating to a matter of phosphate neutrality that is affecting the Wiltshire-Hampshire Avon catchment within which the site is located.
